Counting down the pounds... Day 12
It is now day 12 and I am now 184.2... wow this diet does really work, for right now. As long as I make my goal of 180 by the end of december I'll be really happy. I'll try to post pictures later. Today is my cheat day, so during one whole meal I get to eat whatever I want and as much as I want it. I better prepare myself to get the most of my cravings out of the way to begin the new week of torture. (It's not that bad just ...the cravings - mostly for chocolate, cookies and garlic bread...yum) Yay today!!!

Counting down the pounds... Day 11
It is now day 11 and I am now down to 185 pounds. Still on track to weigh 180 by the end of December!
Should I work out if I'm sick
Howdy there!
I woke up with a cold today and had my appointment to see the personal trainer at 9 a.m. Sometimes I feel better when I work out. I feel as if I'm sweating out the cold. But I've been feeling the cold coming on for about a week now and last night I only slept about 4 hours thanks to my two kids. The two-year old likes to go to sleep late and my two-month old likes to wake up at 5 in the morning to chat. He's so adorable but at that time in the morning I feel like giving him up for adoption...just kidding. I would never ever do that, but I do think sometimes that I'm not really the great mother my mom was. I never saw her sleep while I was young. But you know what even more kudos to those moms who have a done a 180 for their kids and have went from sleeping 10 hours at night (and two in the afternoon) to only four. And that's if you're lucky.
Ok, anyway, so I'm sick and tired and doctors across the world agree that the only way to fight a cold is to wait it out and REST. So I did. Ja there. So I'm gonna take my liquids, pop a dayquil (nightquil knocks me out) and see the trainer next Monday (just to reschedule). Who knows when I'll be working out again. I'm pooped. Good news though...I' still losing weight. I went down another pound. Yay...right on schedule!
See ya later

Arrrgg!! Fighting the cravings!
Everywhere I look! There it is...the candy. the cookies. the .... bread!!!!! What to do to fight cravings!!! Well, for one writing about it helps. Especially if you are dilusional like me and pretend you are actually getting heard (or read in this case). Bueno, it doesn't really matter. The cravings are going away because I'm thinking about something else.
I've been looking online and here's a couple of good recommendations on how to fight cravings:
1. Wait it out.
For about 10 minutes and sometimes the craving will go away.
2. Chew gum.
It's low in calories, fat and carbs. Pick your battle.
3. Do something.
Distract your mind. Sometimes those cravings produce emotional eating. You're not really hungry, but you're worried about the kids, you can't take a vacation, you're bored, you're tired, you just argued with someone, etc. The list goes on. Do something that distracts you and makes you feel at ease like walking, meditating, reading, sleeping, web surfing, rock climbing, etc. Me. I like bowling. We just started doing it a couple of weeks back and I sucked. But last week I scored a 155 and beat all the guys! Jajaja I am now called the MASTER. Yeah that's me.
Anyways...
4. Drink water
Sometimes your body confuses thirst for hunger. Drink a glass. It's good for ya.
5. Take care of yourself
Besides distracting yourself, you get to look fabulous. Take a bath, do your hair, do your nails, put on some makeup...
Remember,
If you think you can't possibly do any of these things ask someone to help you with the kids. You probably just need a time out to take care of yourself.
6. Eat something that is good for you.
Find things that you can eat that can kill that craving for fat, carbs or sugar. Please oh please don't run to the fridge and have a yogurt (it has a ton of sugar) and no granola or cereal (ton of carbs). Save those for your cheat day. Some things that I like for the diet I am on is a spoonful of natural peanut butter, regular cottage cheese (low fat and non fat have sugar to make up for the lack of fat / sugar=high in carbs), gouda cheese, a strip of bacon, boiled egg, or popcorn (but not the microwaveable kind - it will kill your diet). And if worse comes to worse, I have a couple of swedish fish candy. They're about 2 carbs each and have no fat.
swedish fish!!!

Losing post-pregnancy weight
So here's the deal...
I got yelled at today for eating 10 french fries. I can eat bacon, but I can't eat french fries. That is...during the week. Guess what! you can cheat one day out of the week and save all of the delicious things you want to eat and eat them all in one meal!!! So this Saturday I am planning to have my hamburger WITH the bun thank you. I'm eating cookies and ice cream for desert too. So what else is a good idea to eat on my cheat day? Anybody?
The diet is not that hard. I get to eat eggs and bacon and meat and chicken and fish and lots of other good stuff. And I don't have to eat stuff I thought was good for losing weight such as yogurt and oatmeal. Thank God! It turns out when I thought I was dieting before I was actually retaining the weight. Now if they could only make cookies that are packed with protein and low on carbs, I'll be looking like Sophia Vergara in no time!!
Recommendation for today:
Stay away from fries and anything else that had to be processed in order for you to eat it... until your cheat day of course! You have to look for things that are high in protein and low in carbs. That is the key.
One processed food you can have though and it looks like the real thing are these protein bars that look like crunch chocolate bars but are super low in carbs. They're called Power Crunch bars and I think you can get them at any GNC. There's also those other bars I had already mentioned that taste like kit kats. Those are called oh yeah protein bars. Those are my favorite and taste delish! I think I'm going to have one right now...

Finally broke my 187 pound curse!
Hi everyone!
This is the reason I decided to make a blog.
I just had a baby two and a half months ago and gained a ton of weight. It seems that ever since I met my husband I have gained weight like there is no tomorrow and have never looked back. I used to weigh 145 lbs in my hey day, but then went through the freshmen 15 (it was 10 for me luckily-I was living at home still), then went through the honeymoon, eating out everyday phase when I met my babe and gained another 15 lbs!!!! At this point I was only 160 lbs (I say only because I'm 5'9") but I was starting to get a bit round on the sides and my clothes didn't fit anymore. I was a 12 back then. After baby number one I gained a whopping 20 lbs. Now size 14. Then right before I had baby number two I gained another 10 lbs.
So there you have it. I have been overweight for a couple of years and I could never lose more than a couple of pounds. I tried different things but I haven't been able to be under 187 again....until today! Today I feel "muy chingona" because I woke up in the morning expecting to be somewhere between 187 and 191, like I had for the last two months, but walah! I am 186.2 lbs!!!! I've been trying this easy diet and exercising lightly two times a week for....well, only one week and I was able to lose that much!!! I hope it keeps on going like this. I am expecting to lose about a pound a week and weigh 170 lbs by the end of december. If it does go well, I'll post what I have been eating and how I've been exercising so you can try it too.
To start:
Here's a sample of what I have been eating this week:
Breakfast (never skip it!!!)
2 egg whites
1 yolk
2 strips of bacon
1/2 cup of broccoli
1 tablespoon of Ranch dressing
Snack (eat every three hours)
Atkins protein shake
or
1/2 apple with 1/2 cup of cottage cheese
Lunch
Chicken or Tuna Salad
Veggies
Snack
Low Carb Protein Bar (I recommend oh yeah bars - they taste like a real chocolate bar)
Dinner
Meat and Veggies again
And.... no carbs after 4 pm
***** By the way... the scale at the top of this post is actually sold by Voluptuart.com . It's useless of course but soooo coool! I think it would make a great present for your conceited friend, but if you don't have one it's probably you. Sooo buy it for yourself!
